Chianti Classico Riserva

At the beginning Giovanni Matteuzzi planted American grapevines engrafted with 60-70 years old stumps that had been selected at the time by his Grandpa Emilio. In order to preserve the peculiarities of the farm-made wine, the Montoro e Selvole wine is handcrafted using traditional methods.

  • Aging: 22 months in old oak barrels this wine with traditional “Chianti Classico” is fit to hold the Black Rooster seal.

  • Color: vibrant ruby red with purple hints.
  • Nose: rich, long-lingering aromas of violets and wild red berry fruit.
  • Taste: full bodied with wild berry fruit flavors and typical rich finish.
  • Food pairing: it will complement any red meat dishes, home cooked “Nonna’s” roasted dishes, roasted meats like beef, lamb, or pork, try pairing it with roasted beef Wellington or a hearty lamb shank, pasta and pizza.
